In 2014, Raj Sinha of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Mannan Mallick of INC by a margin of 52,997 votes which was 23.32% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Manan Mallick of INC won this seat defeating Raj Kumar Sinha of BJP by a margin of 890 votes which was 0.56% of the total votes polled for the seat.
