In 2014, Saryu Roy of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Banna Gupta of INC by a margin of 10,517 votes which was 5.5% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Banna Gupta of INC won this seat defeating Saryu Roy of BJP by a margin of 3,297 votes which was 2.68% of the total votes polled for the seat.
