Nanded South comprises of the following areas of Nanded district in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra: Loha Tehsil (Part), Revenue Circle Sonkhed, Nanded Tehsil (Part), Revenue Circle Tuppa, Vishnupuri and Nanded-Waghala Municipal Corporation (Part) -Ward No. 10 to 27, 40 to 49, 59 to 65.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 249.13 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sabalagadh is: 19°06'06.5"N 77°16'53.0"E.

In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Mohanrao Marotrao Hambarde of INC won in this constituency beating Deelip Venkatrao Kandkurte of IND by a margin of 3,563 votes which was 01.95% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Hemant Sriram Patil of SS was the winner in this seat beating Dilip Venkatrao Kandkurte of BJP by a margin of 3,207 votes which was 1.84% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Omprakash Ganeshlal Pokarna of INC won this seat defeating Patil Hemant Shriram of SS by a margin of 17,463 votes which was 12.65% of the total votes polled for the seat.
