In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Nitish Mishra of BJP won in this constituency beating Ram Narayan Yadav of CPI by a margin of 41788 votes which was 23.12% of the total votes cast. In 2015, Gulab Yadav of RJD was the winner in this seat beating Nitish Mishra of BJP by a margin of 834 votes which was 0.53% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2010 Assembly elections, Nitish Mishra of JDU won this seat defeating Jagat Narayan Singh of RJD by a margin of 20681 votes which was 17.63% of the total votes polled for the seat.
