This constituency shares an inter-state border with Delhi.

Demographic profile

There were a total of 3,32,125 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election in Badkhal Assembly constituency, of which 1,79,001 were male, 1,53,100 female and 24 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,75,347 registered voters, of which 1,50,424 were male, 1,24,909 female and 14 from the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 2,22,042 registered voters in this constituency, of which 1,22,568 were male and 99,474 female. In the 2009 polls, the number of total electors was 1,34,480 which included 75,639 male and 58,841 female voters.

In the 2019 Haryana Assembly elections, Seema Trikha of BJP won in this constituency beating Vijay Pratap Singh of INC by a margin of 2,545 votes which was 01.88% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Seema Trikha of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Mahender Partap Singh of INC by a margin of 36,609 votes which was 27.37% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Mahender Partap Singh of INC won this seat defeating Seema Trikha of BJP by a margin of 12,679 votes which was 16.93% of the total votes polled for the seat.
