There were a total of 2,34,020 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election in Panipat City Assembly constituency, of which 1,23,795 were male, 1,10,217 female and 8 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,20,440 registered voters, of which 1,17,621 were male, 1,02,814 female and 5 from the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 2,03,410 registered voters in this constituency, of which 1,09,539 were male and 93,871 female. In the 2009 polls, the number of total electors was 1,44,053 which included 79,313 male and 64,740 female voters.

In the 2019 Haryana Assembly elections, Parmod Kumar Vij of BJP won in this constituency beating Sanjay Aggarwal of INC by a margin of 39,545 votes which was 32.33% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Rohita Rewri of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Virender Kumar Shah of INC by a margin of 53,721 votes which was 38.51% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Balbir Pal Shah of INC won this seat defeating Sanjay Bhatia of BJP by a margin of 12,159 votes which was 12.87% of the total votes polled for the seat.
