Sajad Lone is the Jammu & Kashmir People Conference (JKPC) candidate from the Kupwara and Handwara constituencies for Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections 2024. A former member of the banned Jamaat-e-Islami, Lone is the chief of JKPC. In his election affidavit, Lone, 57, has declared assets worth over Rs 11 crore and has declared his highest education qualification as B.Sc (Economics) Hons from Cardiff University in the UK. Lone has also declared that he has no pending criminal cases against him and has not been convicted for any crime. Lone had fought the Lok Sabha election 2024 from the Baramullah constituency in northern Kashmir against Sheikh Abdul Rashid, and had lost by a margin of over 3,00,000 votes.
