In the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Saryu Roy of IND won in this constituency beating Raghubar Das of BJP by a margin of 15,833 votes which was 09.12% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Raghubar Das of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Anand Bihari Dubey of INC by a margin of 70,157 votes which was 41.69% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Raghubar Das of BJP won this seat defeating Abhay Singh of JVM by a margin of 22,963 votes which was 20.56% of the total votes polled for the seat.
