In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Arup Chakraborty of TMC won in this constituency beating Shyamal Kumar Sarkar (Benu) of BJP by a margin of 12377 votes which was 6.2% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Samir Chakraborty of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Amiya Patra of CPIM by a margin of 13669 votes which was 7.45% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Manoranjan Patra of CPIM won this seat defeating Arun Kumar Pathak of INC by a margin of 7165 votes which was 4.56% of the total votes polled for the seat.
